- SOUNDOFF
- Author: Tony Barker, Sydney, Australia
-
-
- This demonstration illustrates the superb sound quality of the Atari
- STe. We have also included an equaliser to demonstrate how easy
- it is to attenuate the left/right channels, treble, bass and master volume.
-
- Each of the samples with the exception of the Kookaburra were taken from
- compact disc. To minimise the size of each sample, each digital sample
- was captured at 6258Hz. As you will discover, it is now possible to
- obtain superb sound quality from an STe at a relatively low sample rate.
-
- The sample of the Kookaburra (native Australian bird) was taken from a
- tape recorded in the wilds of the Australian bush. Again, this
- sequence was sampled at 6258Hz.
-

-
-
- The compact disc samples used in this demonstration were adapted from
- the "Sounds Incredible" compact disc series published by Sound Ideas of
- Toronto Canada.
